Preventing Stretch Marks

Almost each and every “get healthy” and “weight loss” article you study will tell you to skip the drive through and make all of your meals yourself. There’s some benefit to this.

As you know from my previous article, rapid weight gain leads to stretch marks. In our fast pace society sometimes it cannot be helped you will have to eat away from home.

Following these tips will give you some hints to proper nutrition on the road and help you make great decisions toward eating better and keeping those unwanted calories and pounds to a minimum and help prevent those unsightly stretch marks.

Now and then, you absolutely do not need to make a full meal for your family or even just for yourself.

Once in a while you just want to check out the drive through when you are on your way home and end the day.

There is no reason that you simply shouldn’t be able to make it happen once in a while and be free of the guilt usually associated with “diet slips”. You can do this because many of the popular joints are now promoting “healthy” menu alternatives to keep their businesses up.

Here is how to eat healthfully when you reach the drive through.
Aim at the side dishes. It wasn’t that long ago that all you could get at the fast food diner was French Fries. Now just about all of the well-known fast food places have broadened their menus.

There are lots of salads available these days. Chili is definitely a different selection. Baked potatoes can even be purchased. Fruit is normally offered.

There are a lot of alternatives that don’t include eating one thing deep fried.Remember stretch marks tend to gather where we gain weight quickest or first. Some of us gain weight in our mid section, while others gain weight in the upper leg area. Keep this in mind the nest time you reach for that fried food.

When you buy your supper through a drive through window, select side dishes instead of just grabbing something premade.

This can help you keep the calorie count low and lower your fat intake.

Your beverage ought to be water or juice or milk. Drinking a large soda causes hundreds of empty fat laden calories into your diet. One portion of pop is eight ounces. Those eight ounces tend to be at least 100 calories and close to ten tablespoons of sugar. Most fast food fizzy drinks are no less than twenty ounces large.

Typically, however, they’re 30 ounces. This ensures that just purchasing a soft drink will add cupfulls of sugar and thousands of empty calories to your diet program.

It is much healthier to select milk, juice or perhaps normal water.
Visit a drive through for a place who has made it a practice to provide healthier options to people. Arby’s by way of example, doesn’t provide burgers. You may consume roast beef sandwiches, wraps and salads as a substitute.

While Wendy’s has made hamburgers for decades, in addition they have a lot of other healthy options like salads, baked potatoes and chili. Not all fast food locations are as unhealthy as McDonalds with its deep fried everything.

Fundamental reason states that the best way to lose pounds and get healthy is to ban fast food from your diet completely. While, usually, this is a good plan, if you make smart choices, there is no reason to feel guilty for visiting a drive through one or two times a month.

Occasionally, allowing someone else cook dinner is just what you need. There isn’t any reason to feel bad about visiting the drive through when you make healthy decisions!

Stretch marks are an ugly fact of life hopefully I have given you some tips to eating out that will prevent you from getting stretch marks in the first place. Especially if you are always on the go due to your lifestyle or job. Until next time.

Stretch Mark Therapy

Stretch Mark Therapy

While doing on stretch mark therapy, as I have stretch marks myself,  I found that stretch marks are caused by the rapid stretching of the skin.

The common causes of this is pregnancy, lifting weights and gaining of fatty tissue. More so the actual stretch mark itself comes from the scarring that occurs by the tearing of the dermis.

These marks tend to look reddish or purple in nature when they first form and fade after wards. Mine tended to itch when I first got them I guess from the tissue damage.

There have been as I have discovered many advances in stretch mark treatment that have come over the years. These include but are not limited to stretch mark lotion, surgery and dermabrasion.

Stretch Mark Cream

There is an old urban legend that cocoa butter has been found to remove or prevent stretch marks. I found this to be interesting so i researched to find the truth.

I read on wikipedia, there was a study done on a group of 300 pregnant women to gauge it’s effectiveness as a remedy for stretch marks. There was no evidence found that cocoa butter was effective as a stretch mark remedy.

Yet another study was done where a cocktail of stretch mark cream containing Gotu Kola extract, Vitamin E, and collagen hydrolysates was found to limit the number of stretch marks during pregnancy. This I found encouraging.

Laser Treatment For Stretch Marks

The use of laser treatment for stretch marks involves using a laser to induce microscopic wounds or injury to the areas where stretch marks have occurred.

The body responds to this damage by producing collagen, which is a type of protein that supports many organs of the body including the skin.

Also according to this article on wikipedia the treatment has been known to improve stretch mark conditions up to 75%.

Stretch Mark Surgery

Another form of stretch mark treatment is the tummy tuck. This procedure removes the skin and thus the affected area of the body with the stretch marks.

However in my studies I have found most of the procedures that are surgical in nature are not covered by insurance. Due to the face stretch mark surgery is considered to be cosmetic in nature.

I have tried to give you as much information on the treatment of stretch marks as I am have encountered. To me I don’t think I will go the laser or surgery route as for me it’s not “that” serious.

I am not beyond trying some of the cream I have heard about though.  It would seem for those of us on a budget. The stretch mark creams and maybe vitamin E  is the better option.
